Overview of the Summer Season
The Kuwait Equestrian Federation (KEF) has officially released the Show Jumping Rules and Regulations for the Summer Season 2026. These rules govern all local show jumping events and are strictly valid from June 1st to September 30th, 2026. All events during this period will be conducted in accordance with FEI rules and regulations, with immediate implementation of any FEI updates.
Key Highlights for Athletes and Clubs
If you are planning to compete or organize events this summer, keep these essential rules in mind:
-
Membership Requirements: All athletes must be registered with KEF and hold a valid active Season 2025/2026 membership to be eligible to compete. The membership fee is KD 20 for Kuwaiti and resident athletes. Foreign athletes must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their National Federation. All registrations must be processed via the KEF website.
-
Athlete and Horse Limits: An athlete is permitted to represent only one club or stable per event. However, athletes can compete with an unlimited number of horses during a show.
-
Competition Starts per Horse: In 1 Day Shows, a horse may compete in up to two competitions. In 2 Day Shows, a horse can compete in a maximum of three competitions across the entire show, with a strict limit of two competitions per day. Horses are also allowed to compete twice in the same competition on the same day if ridden by two different athletes.
-
Class Formats: Jump off or two round competitions are not permitted in summer local shows. Standard approved competition heights range from 100cm up to a maximum height of 135cm. Any lower level classes added outside the standard schedule can only be judged as Not Against the Clock or under Optimum Time rules.
-
Prize Money and Placings: Prize money must be distributed to the top six placings for each competition. Every approved competition in the schedule carries a minimum prize money allocation of KD 150.
